Aerotek Hiring for Assembly Technician Job at Petersburg, VA Full Time

Description:
Candidate will be working in an assembly role; learning the process of high-end outdoor furniture manufacturing. Candidates will be hired in 1 of 2 departments, Powder coating Or Grinding based on previous experience and the interview.

Candidate will be using less hand/power tools for a typical assembly type of role, but the process starts learning the grinding department, cutting bending and measuring metal and using basic shop math utilizing basic company drawings. Candidates will be expected to use precision and a certain touch in their use of tools and therefore even if they have previous experience, will take a certain touch for their product.

2 Candidates will be hired into Powder coating, will be taught the paintline and how to manage and monitor oven temperatures, apply coating, monitor the paint and drying process and prep for Quality inspection – rejecting any pieces that aren’t nearly perfect.

Candidates should be proficient with the use of power tools, tape measures, following drawings, and appreciate an interest in craftsmanship of products.

Candidates should be expected to learn every area of the operation at some point; potentially even learning and moving into welding some day or Upholstery depending on their interests.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Candidate does not need to have 5 plus year of assembly experience as their interest is in training the right person who enjoys working with their hands.

Ideal candidates have an interest in simply watching things be built from scratch, have come in the Arts, VCU theatre, Graphics design, stage building etc.

6am-2:30pm shift Monday through Friday (1 Sculptor/Grinder and 1 Powder coater)

2:30-11pm Evening shift (1 Scultor/Grinder and 1 powder coater)
