Overview:
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Functions Supervised: Account reconciliation process and staff.
Primary Functions: To ensure proper control over general ledger balance sheet accounts by ensuring general ledger reconciliations are completed accurately and timely. Ensure full utilization of account reconciliation software in preparation of account reconciliations. Supervise reconciliation staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree and/or certified public accountant preferred.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not Applicable
Experience/Skills: Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must also possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across various departments and position categories. Must demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem solving skills and accounting skills. Proficiency in the use of personal computers, automated accounting systems and Internet based applications is required. Experience in working with large data sets and knowledge of Blackline or similar software. Must also demonstrate the ability to train and manage staff on these processes and software.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct/oversee all activities related to accurate and timely completion of all general ledger reconciliations throughout the credit union and CUSOs. Oversee preparation of monthly reports on account reconciliation ratings and recommendation of charge offs for delinquent outstanding reconciling items.
- Become the onsite expert on the Blackline account reconciliation software and obtain any training needed. Train staff on fully utilizing Blackline for efficient, effective reconciliations.
- Plan and implement process to complete and maintain all general ledger account reconciliations in the Blackline account reconciliation software.
- Plan and implement process to have all reconciliations performed in the accounting department.
- Work with Financial Systems and Information Management to have applicable sub ledgers interfaced with Blackline.
- Work with General Accounting and external departments to review and document accounting processes external to the accounting department. Recommend process changes as needed.
- Maintain all internal Accounting Control group policies and procedures.
- Supervise the tasks and responsibilities of the Accounting Control group staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
