We’re hiring and we want you! Our dynamic and growing Jacksonville based General Contracting company (located in Orange Park), has an immediate opening for a Project Accountant with Procore Construction Management software experience. This position supports the overall organization and Accounting Services group by working closely with the COO and Controller in various duties related to project accounting across all five divisions of the company.(General Contracting, Construction-Renovation, HVAC Mechanical and Property Maintenance and Plumbing) This position has interaction with field Project Managers and operations personnel in the offices on a regular basis to complete the life cycle of Project Accounting.
Prior expereince with Sage 300 Construction software and Timberline is also helpful as the company transitions fully to the Procore platform.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Will consider a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. In addition to the degree, we also require a minimum of 5-8 years hands on job experience as a Project Cost Accountant, preferably in a Construction/General Contracting company.
Ability to work with all types of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios. Also able to understand currency, commissions, discounts, interest. Working knowledge of financial documents and reports and have an understanding of Accounting concepts, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, month-end and year end closing.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge and daily hands on experience with Procore and also cursory knowledge or familiarity with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate software (formerly Timberline). Timberline Scan is also utilized. Strong Excel an absolute. Experience with pivot tables, look-ups and creating spreadsheets. Microsoft Suite including Outlook e-mail and Teams.
Other Abilities: Reliable and focused concentration on the Project Cost Accountant role, time management, strong oral and written communication skills. Professionalism and ability to communicate with all types of personnel, including field personnel. Ability to multi-task, adaptability and ability to prioritize based on project timelines and deadlines. Ability to meet invoicing deadlines is critical for the finanacial health of the organization. Pleasant demeanor, with an attitude toward service to the operating divisions within the organization.
