We’re hiring and we want you! Our dynamic and growing Jacksonville based General Contracting company (located in Orange Park), has an immediate opening for a Project Accountant with Procore Construction Management software experience. This position supports the overall organization and Accounting Services group by working closely with the COO and Controller in various duties related to project accounting across all five divisions of the company.(General Contracting, Construction-Renovation, HVAC Mechanical and Property Maintenance and Plumbing) This position has interaction with field Project Managers and operations personnel in the offices on a regular basis to complete the life cycle of Project Accounting.

Prior expereince with Sage 300 Construction software and Timberline is also helpful as the company transitions fully to the Procore platform.

• Pre-Construction Phase-Participates in the pre-qualification and set up of new clients and new jobs numbers within either the Sage 300 or Procore systems.
• Collaborates (as needed) in the bid management process per client specifications and assists in the estimation of potential profitability.
• Contract Management Phase- assist and communicate to the divisions an understanding of the contract requirements through the life cycle of the project.
• Provide and manage information within the construction software programs for continued estimation of potential and realized profitability and also cost analysis in order to aid Accounting in completing project financials for the divisions.
• Work with internal team members to review change orders and revise contract documents as needed and foster an enviroment to support the divisions to keep their projects on time and profitable.
• Assists in completing and delivering accurate and timely invoices and pay applications to our clients on a regular and on-going basis to insure payments.
• Assists with accounts receivable on large projects, and participates in large departmental collection meetings, specifically working with internal employees to review invoicing for various departments/divisions and works with lien releases as it relates to invoicing and accounts receivable.
• Meets with project managers and other internal or field personnel on a regular basis to discuss the status of current and on-going projects or jobs, including “open” accounts receivable/invoice issues.
• Supports the COO in reviewing new client contracts and maintaining Contracts-in-Progress (CIP) reports.
• Monitors and assists in updating Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports as needed for the five divisions.
• On an as-needed basis, Accountant will be a liaison between Accounting and client.
• Utlilizes both Sage 300 software platform and Procore as company transitions to newer and better platforms.
• Conducts weekly accounting reporting to include job costing reports and others as needed.
• Assists COO and Controller and provides support as needed, to complete successful and timely internal/external financial and insurance audits.
• Partners with Controller to complete daily accounting duties and supports department as a whole, with month-end closings.
• Maintains accounting and job costing reports for field managers. Helps provide information and cost analysis to support a variety of managers in the field for their on-going projects across all lines of business.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Will consider a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. In addition to the degree, we also require a minimum of 5-8 years hands on job experience as a Project Cost Accountant, preferably in a Construction/General Contracting company.

Ability to work with all types of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios. Also able to understand currency, commissions, discounts, interest. Working knowledge of financial documents and reports and have an understanding of Accounting concepts, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, month-end and year end closing.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge and daily hands on experience with Procore and also cursory knowledge or familiarity with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate software (formerly Timberline). Timberline Scan is also utilized. Strong Excel an absolute. Experience with pivot tables, look-ups and creating spreadsheets. Microsoft Suite including Outlook e-mail and Teams.

Other Abilities: Reliable and focused concentration on the Project Cost Accountant role, time management, strong oral and written communication skills. Professionalism and ability to communicate with all types of personnel, including field personnel. Ability to multi-task, adaptability and ability to prioritize based on project timelines and deadlines. Ability to meet invoicing deadlines is critical for the finanacial health of the organization. Pleasant demeanor, with an attitude toward service to the operating divisions within the organization.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
