Title: Machinist

Department: Machine Shop

Reports to: Machine Shop Manager

Job Summary: Fabricate all components of designed projects using skilled professional methods to produce quality details. Communicate and document any desired changes to Assembly Manager or, if authorized, directly to engineering. Discuss suggestions for future design or process improvements to the Assembly Manager and engineering.

Pay: Depends on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce manufactured components per engineering design prints on manual mill and/or lathe
• Experience machining details on CNC Mill and /or lathe. Alpha uses Hass CNC Mills and Lathe.
• Teach machining parameters using Fusion 360 or Mastercam.
• Knowledge of materials and machining characteristics to determine feeds and speeds.
• Modify purchased components per engineering design prints.
• Travel for occasional machine installation and on-site support of customer projects as required.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workspace in the machine shop.
• Shop maintenance.
• Shipping and receiving support as needed.
• Assist in the machine debug effort.
• Assist in the assembly department as needed.
• Assist in the time and cost estimates of manufactured components.
• Must be able to travel to install equipment if required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
