What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Responsible for executing financial, compliance, and operational audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and mitigation of organizational risk. This role will assist in making recommendations to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of the control systems of business processes reviewed and provide value added analysis on business operations, internal controls and risk management. Essential Functions:

• Executes financial, compliance, and operational audits within the parameters of an approved work program in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
• Contributes to risk management discussions with process owner(s) for each audit including risk identification, risk assessment / ranking, controls over risk and other risk reduction opportunities.
• Assesses the completeness and accuracy of account balances, transactions, documents, records, and reports; evaluates the design and effectiveness of management controls, compliance with established standards, policies and procedures and identifies areas for operational improvement.
• Prepares work papers to properly record and summarize the results of detailed audit testing.
• Obtains, analyzes and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control system and the efficiency of the operations being reviewed.
• Reports engagement observations to the Senior Assurance Auditor and / or Assurance Services management during the audit in a timely manner and provides constructive recommendations for consideration that may improve controls, mitigate risk, improve operations/efficiency, promote company growth, reduce cost, and/or ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Performs follow up reviews to ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
• Assists with special projects, consulting / advisory engagements, and assignments exclusive of the audit work plan that are assigned by Assurance Services management team.
• Assists and supports the external auditors as requested and defined by the annual audit plan.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work well and communicate effectively with audit management or team leader and co-workers.
• Effective oral and written communications skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of the IIA Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Code of Ethics.

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Required:

• BA / BS degree in Accounting or business-related discipline.
• One (1+) year experience in Internal Audit or Public Accounting experience; experience within the company or healthcare industry may be substituted as deemed appropriate by Assurance management.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); other applicable and relevant audit certifications; interest in pursuing one of these professional designations should be demonstrated within a reasonable length of time.
