Another Source’s client, University of Idaho, is recruiting a Payroll Specialist to join their team in Moscow, Idaho. This is a full-time, direct-hire, and on-site role.

What you will be doing:
The Payroll Specialist will participate in processing and transmitting University Payroll transactions. They will ensure compliance with all university, State and Federal payroll related polices, laws and regulations. The team works collaboratively to ensure transactions are processed timely and accurately, reviewing and resolving discrepancies expeditiously. They serve as an expert resource for the campus community, providing training related to payroll, tax and withholding-related processes and requirements.
The day-to-day:
- Entering, verifying, and reconciling information for the biweekly payroll.
- Verifying and transmitting direct-deposit transfers.
- Development and submission of payroll, retirement and tax-related reports.
- Reviewing and auditing payroll transactions.
- Calculating and processing tax withholdings.
- Reconciling wages and deductions.
- Maintaining employee payroll records.
- Participating in reviewing and adjusting processing procedures.
Required Experience
- 2 years of experience related to payroll, benefits, and/or taxes or a bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
- Comfortable using computer software and applications for researching and compiling financial information, preparing summaries and reports.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting financial information and reports using accounting theory, principles, and practices.
- Experience composing a variety of business documents with attention to grammar, punctuation, and detail as demonstrated in application materials.
- Experience working in a customer service-oriented team environment to accomplish shared goals.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Working in a public and/or university financial and payroll environment
- Demonstrated ability to resolve sensitive and sometimes confrontational situations
- Knowledge of the Banner information system

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $52,800 per year or higher depending on education and experience.
