JOB SUMMARY

The Casper, WY ATLAS location is seeking a Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to join a family of firms across multiple states with a lot of room for advancement.

This position will be responsible for general ledger accounting, analysis of business transactions to prepare journal entries, month-end close process, financial data preparation on income tax basis of accounting, and account analysis and reconciliation for multiple companies on monthly or quarterly basis.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Full-charge bookkeeping, including the preparation of sales, use and payroll tax reports, including support of e-sale environment with multiple state exposure

• Utilizes QuickBooks on multiple platforms to assist, support and train clients in compiling their accounting data on a collaborative basis

• QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online proficient

• Familiarity with all aspects of payroll – onboarding new hires, including use of the E-Verify system

• Reviews balance sheet account reconciliations, identifies errors and provides feedback for corrections.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining electronic transmission of Federal and State tax payments and deposits
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts documenting business transactions.
• Reviews documentation and underlying support in evaluation of fixed asset software.

Experience and knowledge of the following:

• Garnishments
• Independent contractor v. employee issues
• Direct deposit for employees
• Sales Tax reporting – multiple jurisdictions
• Fixed Assets – additions, deletions and maintenance

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• At least 2 years in similar role preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional certification preferred
