Responsibilities:
The Regional Sonographer I will work Regular Full-Time, Various Shifts & Weekends and will perform clinical responsibilities for conducting ultrasound exams according to departmental procedures.
- The Regional Sonographer I performs all necessary functions regarding financial responsibilities of departmental procedures.
- The Regional Sonographer I maintains competent level of knowledge and information regarding self and profession.
- The Regional Sonographer I maintains a thorough understanding and responsibility of departmental relationships.
- The Regional Sonographer I performs all necessary functions in completing ultrasound/vascular examination.
- Participates in the quality assurance program and ICAVL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories) accreditation process.
- Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed
Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. All candidates who accept an offer from Bassett Healthcare Network will be required to show proof of vaccination as required by New York State.
Education:
- ARDMS credential must be obtained within 2 years from date of hire.
Experience:
Preferred training: Accredited ultrasound program in general ultrasound, vascular or echocardiography.
Licensure/Certificates:
- ARDMS or RVT registration required within 2 years.
- Must be certified in 1 of the following specialties within 2 years: o AB (Abdomen) o OB (Ob/Gyn) o VT (Vascular Technology) o BR (Breast Ultrasound).
- BLS required within 6 months from date of hire.
Skills:
- Ability to perform aspects of multi-specialty ultrasonography/vascular testing in an efficient manner. This can include Abdomen, Ob-Gyn., Small parts (breast, thyroid, & scrotal), Carotid Doppler, Venous Doppler, Abdominal Doppler, API¿s, PPG¿s, PVR¿s.
- Good communication skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires pushing of equipment, positioning or transfer of patients, lifting of supplies and equipment. Ability to perform difficult manipulative tasks: positioning of patients, calibration/operation of equipment control panels.
- Ability to perform tasks that requires eye-hand coordination as well as arm-hand steadiness.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time and remain in uncomfortable positions for scanning difficult patients.
- Ability to travel to Bassett Healthcare regional sites as necessary.
Multi-Site and On-Call:
- This position requires travel to regional sites to provide ultrasonography coverage as necessary.
- This position also requires participation in the on-call rotation, including dual coverage for radiology ultrasound at MIBH (24/7) service and vascular laboratory (venous testing) on weekends.
