The Transportation Analyst has close relations with our transportation partners with regular face-to-face meetings as you try to improve delivery performance through collaboration. If there are structural delays, expect to analyze the root cause and implement corrective actions. Benchmarking transportation, tender initiatives, and rate negotiations will be regular activities to reduce transportation costs. Expect to develop a detailed understanding of the North American logistics market and to develop close relationships with our international partners

We are building a strong team to help succeed with our strategy for North American transportation and logistics. This position will report to the NA Logistics Manager – Strategic/Business Intelligence – while collaborating with our Strategic Transportation Analysts, NA Outbound Operations team, Global Distribution teams, suppliers, and the Supply Chain Planning team. This role is located in Hebron, KY, and is an integral part of our distribution team! This position is considered to be a hybrid role with a mix of onsite and work-from-home balance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Review, analyze, monitor, and manage transportation activity and freight spend for assigned lanes, shipping warehouses and carriers

Design and implement initiatives to enhance quality, improve service, reduce costs, and provide sustainability

Manage the RFQ/RFP (Request for Quote/Proposal) process with all international/domestic carriers and freight forwarders

Design appropriate inbound & outbound road/air networks applying a proper mix of Full Truck Load, Less Than Truck Load, and Parcel carriers. Work with internal partners to implement underlying projects

Drive freight savings, transit time adherence, and performance through carrier management and performance assessments

Development and updating of carrier standard operating procedures and service level agreements.

Use DBS (Danaher Business Systems) by applying Kaizen methodology, Daily Management, and Problem Solving

The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor Degree with 5+ years experience,

Knowledge and experience in transport modes: Parcel (international and domestic), LTL, FTL, Air (International), and Ocean.

Understanding of Transport Management Systems

Experience working within a large, multi-modal, high volume shipper with global scope

Willingness to travel up to 20% and ability to understand different cultures
