JOB SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledgers. Prepare and analyze budgets and perform general bookkeeping. Provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts; preparing financial statements and ensuring accounting information is accurate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fulfill monthly close-related tasks; record, review and post general ledger journal entries; reconcile and evaluate all balance sheet accounts; ensure proper cut off for revenues and expenses; analyze branch financial statements
• Key and review Accounts Payable in accounting software; manage corporate credit card activity and perform proper coding of costs
• Assist with payroll processing and analysis
• Assist with the preparation and filing of various state sales and use taxes
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data; assist operations with forecasting, budgeting, and financial statement reviews; research transactions, accounts, discrepancies, etc. as needed; generate additional special reporting on an as-needed basis
• Review monthly forecasts to identify trends and ensure reasonableness of projections; provide operating assumptions for inclusion within annual budget; analyze yearly budgets and verify accuracy of certain non-operating items; compile special financial reporting packages
• Maintain prescribed internal controls; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field
