Position Overview:
The Transportation Coordinator provides support for daily transportation tasks that facilitate the movement of product both inbound and outbound as well as proactively monitoring the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction. This includes providing freight service and support to our internal and external customers.

• Books all inbound freight with freight vendor based on supply planning team’s needs.
• If expedited freight needed, escalate request to Manager and document in tracker.
• Prepares request for quotes on Expedited shipments and schedules as needed
• Maintain both inbound and outbound delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure deadlines are met. If shipment tracking behind schedule communicate to stakeholder.
• Partners with warehouse to confirm all shipments are picked up at end of day. Coordinates plan with freight vendor for missed pickups and communicates plan and impact to internal stakeholders
• Monitor shipment statuses and follow up with freight vendor to identify constraints and resolution.
• Proactively updates internal customers on delayed shipments or vendor issues.
• Coordinate with multiple internal/external customers to get orders shipped accurately.
• Assist with special projects and assignments as needed.
• Refer unresolved issues to designated teams for further investigation.
• Develop cross functional relationships with counterparts to effectively reconcile issues that come up.
• Accountable for relevant transportation input into SOPs and ensuring they are kept up to date.
• Participate on cross functional projects supporting improvements to the overall performance of the company.

Education/Experience*

Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary): 2-year degree or equivalent experience

• 2 years of relevant experience in Transportation related role
• Experience in FTL, LTL, Rail, Air modes of transport

• Demonstrated competency with transportation management systems (TMS) and related processes.
• Previous customer facing experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel (basic calculations like pivot table and vlookup).
• Working knowledge of transportation, distribution, and broader supply chain concepts.
