Job Summary

Busch Vacuum LLC has an immediate, direct-hire opportunity open at our service center in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

Busch Vacuum is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

The Product Support Specialist acts as a mechanical/technical expert in their assigned product line and, as such, provides support to internal and external customers in equipment troubleshooting and mechanical/technical queries regarding our vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers. In addition, they will monitor product quality issues and drive product improvements in the product line(s) assigned, perform equipment warranty teardown/evaluations and help manage warranties.

This is not an information technology (IT) position.

Job Responsibilities

• Daily interaction with external and internal customers to provide expert-level industrial equipment mechanical/technical support
• Coordinate efforts of internal resources to provide and implement solutions to one-time and recurring product issues
• Perform equipment/warranty evaluations for failure determination and record information for technical review
• Communicate orally and in writing with customers and suppliers regarding equipment related technical information and findings
• Make recommendations on the eligibility of warranty claims for defective or failed pumps or other Busch products
• Provide technical assistance and training to the Busch team and other parties as necessary
• Work with production companies and drive product improvement projects to ensure that quality problems are resolved.
• Promptly respond to customer requests and act as the liaison between the customer and internal departments, including Sales, Engineering, and Operations.
• Collect data and provide feedback to production companies and product management regarding the product quality issues in their assigned product lines

Required Experience

• 5 plus years of experience in industrial vacuum pumps or other rotating equipment: Highly Preferred
• Experience using systems to research appropriate spare and replacement parts: Required
• Experience reading schematics: Required
• Associate degree (two-year college or technical school): Required
• Field of Study: Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related: Preferred
• Computer skills: Intermediate knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems: Preferred

Personal Qualifications

• Must be detail, safety and customer-oriented
• Must have the ability to provide positive coaching, training, feedback and development guidance
• Must have a high mechanical/technical aptitude and the ability to learn complex mechanical/technical equipment quickly
• Must be very organized, have sound decision-making ability, and display good judgment
• Must have excellent oral and written English communication skills

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen and 7-year criminal history check
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

Physical Requirements

• Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
