Position Purpose

This role is responsible to deliver the transport budget, execute both tactical and strategic planning while improving the Pallecon customer service experience. This Senior Manager owns the daily execution but also the strategic planning, the communication around it and the presentation to senior leadership. This position will closely collaborate with the Automotive and Pallets business to align on Transport strategies and freight procurement.

Scope

Responsible for a logistics team servicing ~200k customer facing truckloads annually in North America.

Major/Key Accountabilities

• Deliver the budget and improve the ratio of the transport spend over sales
• Manage the order planning process for the Pallecon group and work with operations to ensure proper network capabilities to meet order demand
• Create, implement and execute the transportation strategy
• Leadership Development: Assemble a strong and diverse team that achieves their objectives.
• Manage, hire, train and develop direct reports.
• Create a dynamic and engaged team with proper career pathway and succession planning in place
• Employee Engagement: Maintain an environment that respects diversity and guarantees open communication
• Customer Service & Support: Operate a business unit that consistently meets customer needs & expectations.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field preferred
• 5+years’ Experience in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics and Planning
• 3+years’ Experience in leading, growing people and driving high performance teams
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
