Children’s is searching for an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to add to our Critical Care Transport Team!
The Critical Care Transport team at Children’s Hospital in Omaha is the only team in Nebraska specializing in the stabilization and care of neonatal and pediatric patients. Transport services are available 24/7, and we have approximately 3000 transports per year.
Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Omaha operates and maintains the fleet of four ground ambulances. Air Methods Corporation operates and maintains the fleet, which includes 2 – EC130 helicopters and 1 – Pilatus PC 12 fixed wing. Children’s Hospital is the sole users of these aircrafts.
Our transport team consists of highly skilled RNs, Paramedics, and Nurse Practitioners. The team provides the most advanced, cutting-edge care for both newborn and pediatric patients. Designed to bridge the gap between Children’s Hospital & Medical Center and other medical facilities throughout the region. The team transports patients to our new state of the art Hubbard Center for Children, which is a level 2 trauma center, consisting of a 20-room emergency department, 32-room cardiac care unit, 32-room pediatric intensive care unit, and 52-room neonatal intensive care unit.
We have received The Gold Standard of Nursing Excellence, Magnet Recognition 4 times, which is an honor achieved by only 2% of hospitals nationwide. Furthermore, the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems is proud to announce that Children’s Hospital Pediatric & Neonatal Transport was awarded accreditation on April 9, 2019.
Job Summary:
The advanced practice provider (APP) at CHMC provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. APP’s are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury. This role contributes to the mission and vision of the organization by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Nebraska state statues, administrative code and CHMC bylaws. The APP is committed to a culture of clinical excellence, respect, innovation, and academic inquiry through collaborative practice with all members of the care delivery team.
