POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply & Logistics Coordinator – Tankwagon leads the day-to-day operational focus of the TankWagon dispatchers. The Supply & Logistics Coordinator – Tankwagon plays a critical role in the continued success of Colonial by serving as the the day-to-day primary point of contact for all internal departments associated with dispatch.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
- Trains new dispatch team members and provides coaching for existing team members.
- Serves as backup for dispatchers as needed.
- Directs dispatch team on daily processes and functions to realize efficient performance to meet or exceed key performance metrics.
- Assists with reconciling inventory bench as needed.
- Ensures Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) accounts are clearly identified within all systems.
- Works with Customer Support and Sales Supervisor to ensure VMI list for each market on a monthly basis.
- Establishes and maintains safety stock settings for VMO accounts.
- Ensures monitor website and dispatch sheets are correctly configured to establish necessary delivery urgency.
- Communicates daily with other departments to remove any delivery roadblocks, credit hold situations, or missing information.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience in Logistics, Distribution, or Transportation is required.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience is desired.
- Must be able to read/write the English language.
- Must be proficient in Excel, SmartLogix and PDI Enterprise and web-based apps.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to focus on and accurately complete tasks in an energetic, fast paced, and continuously changing work environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures is a must.
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
