Position Title: Accounting Specialist II
Reports to: Director of Client Financial Services
Purpose of position: To support our client schools in their finance functions by supporting Designs for Learning accounting staff in their various functions – AP, AR, Payroll, and Bank Reconciliations. The Accounting Specialist II position is a non-supervisory experienced role to provide backup and support to a team of Accounting Specialists who are taking on the various tasks as listed above. The Accounting Specialist II serves as a subject matter expert to the accounting team.
Designs For Learning, a professional, one of kind consulting company to charter schools and small non-profit businesses is seeking a full time Accounting Specialist II.
The Accounting Specialist II is responsible for general finance duties necessary for the effective processing of school AP, AR, Payroll, and Bank Reconciliations, including all necessary state and federal filing and reporting to maintain compliance on all finance records. Prepares and compiles necessary information and reports for the District’s annual audit.
It is projected that this position will spend approximately 25% of their time on staff training, 25% on serving as a backup to accounting staff for leaves, PTO, and professional development time, and the remaining 50% of the role as a support to the accounting staff and business managers for questions, tasks, and special projects as needed to improve the finance department.
This position is located at the Designs for Learning office in St. Paul MN. This position is full-time with a flexible schedule (with supervisor approval), average 5 days per week along with a competitive salary + excellent benefits package. Finance staff are currently hybrid in the office, so 100% remote is not currently an option.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
