Accounting and Finance Director
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Overview:
The Accounting and Finance Director will be responsible for the development of the organization’s financial management strategy and oversee the Accounting and Payroll team. Primary Responsibilities:
· Oversee the accurate processing, reconciliation, and recordkeeping of multi-state payroll for 40 internal employees and 250+ contract employees.
· Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
· Establish and monitor team performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct performance reviews.
· Support company’s financial objectives by providing financial analyses, projections, and recommendations.
· Responsible for the management and compliance of the firm’s 401k retirement plan.
· Oversee accounting operations, including payroll, payables, receivables, and tax preparation.
· Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process.
· Manage and retain relationships with various vendors, such as banks, financial advisors, and accounting firms.
Candidate Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or equivalent. Master’s degree a plus.
· Certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) preferred.
· Minimum 10 years experience in accounting/finance/payroll functions.
· Minimum 5 years successful team management experience in accounting and/or payroll department, preferably within a staffing agency environment.
· Working experience and knowledge of payroll and corporate taxes at the federal, state and local levels.
· Strong knowledge of current payroll and HRIS systems.
· Highly effective communicator across all levels of the company.
· Energetic, flexible, passionate, collaborative, and proactive.
· A critical thinker with excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills including conflict resolution skills.
· A leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives.
