The Multimedia Producer is responsible for developing and producing digital and multimedia products from creation to product completion through collaboration with clients (i.e., faculty, staff, marketing personnel, and others); managing project production, development, and implementation process; demonstrating overall knowledge of the digital and multimedia technologies necessary to produce effective, creative, and quality digital and multimedia productions. The incumbent provides leadership, support and technical expertise for technology and media for the Office of e-Campus Learning.As a member of EKU’s Office of e-Campus Learning, the incumbent is responsible for supporting EKU Online programs, faculty, and staff by executing communications and visual strategy. Responsibilities include professional graphic, multimedia, videographer, and photographic services integrated across a variety of media including print, photography, web, and video. The incumbent supports all communication, marketing, and course development initiatives with the goal of increasing audience understanding and fulfilling the goals of the Office of e-Campus Learning.The incumbent develops layouts, graphics, animation, video, and audio products for use in presentations, instructional tutorials, marketing assets, websites, and other electronic formats. Products are tested and designed to function across multiple platforms to ensure maximum performance with common browsers and Internet connection speeds.
Education: Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism, Fine Arts, Communications, Instructional Technology, Video Production, or related area is required. Masters or advanced coursework in Web design concepts, programming languages, video production is preferred.
Knowledge: Requires in-depth knowledge of a specialized/technical function or a broad-working knowledge of the practices and techniques of a professional field. Requires the ability to determine a course of action and modify existing procedures and method based upon the interpretation of general policies of the specialization/technical function.
Experience: Three years of senior level multimedia production is required.Preferred experience includes operating video cameras and using editing equipment, along with extensive use of editing and graphics software, educational development, training offerings and marketing endeavors.
Minimum Licensure and Certification:
Develop digital and multimedia products for faculty and instructional designers to be used for educational / online purposes.
Develop digital and multimedia products to be used for marketing purposes.
Facilitate and/or conduct all of the processes associated with the development of products delivered for purposes described above.
Provide advanced graphic design expertise on host of projects related to instructional design and marketing.
Serve as videographer for video needs related to the effective delivery of customer service needs requested of the Office of e-Campus Learning.
Develop multimedia products on an ad-hoc basis as determined by the Director of the Instructional Design Center
Serve as the professional photographer for all photographic needs of the Office of e-Campus Learning.
Maintain list of all projects completed including priority level, due dates, clients served, and service evaluation records.
Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned
