Conducts business with over 500 customers annually including BP, Chevron, Shell, ExxonMobil, NRG, Goodyear, among others

What This Company Offers You:

The Role You Will Play: Tax Accountant

Prepare and file accurate and timely Sales and Use tax, Commercial Activity, Business, and Occupational tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Assist in property tax return filings with third party provider.
Reconcile Sales and Use tax general ledger account(s).
Update and maintain Sales & Use tax calendars by legal entity.
Assist in the preparation and review of exemption certificates.
Assist in researching transaction Sales and Use tax issues.
Assist in developing and implementing process improvements in company indirect tax procedures.
Assist in maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects of the indirect tax process.
Assist in planning for and developing overall indirect tax calendar.
Monitor legislative and regulatory indirect tax law developments.
Assist with external financial audit requests, income tax audits and sales and use tax audits.
Assist in the resolution of federal income and state tax and sales and use tax notices.
Other duties as assigned.

Background Profile: Tax Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
2-4 years sales and use tax experience in a medium-to-large corporate environment (preferred).
Construction, engineering, or oil field services industry preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products with intermediate to advanced capabilities in MS Excel
Ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
Must understand the financial implications of various business decisions.
Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
Ability to identify issues and implement solutions with all levels of management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
