• 5 – 10 years of development experience with 3 – 5 years of technical leadership experience at a senior level.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent understanding of REST concepts and developing REST API’s using Spring boot
• Object-oriented analysis and design experience
• Excellent understanding of Java 8 capabilities, lambda, streams and functional interfaces
• Excellent understanding and working experience using spring modules, including IOC, MVC(Rest), BATCH, spring boot along with other core components like oauth2 and security
• You thrive in a team-oriented environment and taking on new challenges
• Your communication with peers and leaders is clear and effective
• You help provide technical leadership and direction

The Value You Deliver

• Leading the team in technical guidance and mentoring junior team members.
• Coordinating and leading research into new technologies independently, as part of a team and with the Architecture team to make judgement and recommendations for future releases.

• Providing and taking leadership taking business requirements and translate them into detailed designs, consider the best strategy to ensure design meets performance, security, usability, and reliability and scalability requirements

The Team

As a member of the Health Care Group (HCG) Technology team, you will play a leadership role in imagining, designing, and building Fidelity’s Health solutions. HCG is launching a program to build a product offering to support a new business opportunity. You will be joining the team at initiation of the product build, giving you the opportunity to significantly shape and influence the outcome by working both strategically and tactically on the delivery of the technology to support this new product. This position can be based in MMK, BOS, SMT, DUR, WLK, or near any Fidelity location.

The team is looking to fill an interesting and challenging role on its development team. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a contributing member of an agile team building the platform to support this new product. You will be a senior member, expected to contribute to the technical leadership of the program, as well as the center of excellence within the HCG business. This includes:

• Providing mentoring to the HCG team of developers and tech leads with specific emphasis on sound fundamental development methodology.
• Providing leadership on project development policies, procedures, standards and strategies.
• Contributing individually to the software engineering deliverables
• Participating in the HCG team’s effort to improve the productivity and quality of the entire development process.
