In this position, the Accountant IV will perform complex routine and non-routine accounting work including compilation, consolidation, or analysis of financial statements. This is to support management decision-making regarding the company’s loss reserves for continuing lines of business. This position will be responsible for monthly GAAP reporting of loss activity and quarterly statutory reporting of loss activity.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting is required
Professional certification (CPA, CMA) or master’s degree preferred!
Experience:
5+ years of general accounting/financial reporting experience (preferably in the insurance industry) is required
Skills/Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated project management skills, ability to multi-task
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Proficient with financial systems and standard software applications including but not limited to; PeopleSoft, SAP; [Advanced] Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word
