Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board Hiring for Director of Accounting Job at Visalia, CA Full Time

The Citrus Research Board (CRB) is accepting applications of interest for a Director of Accounting to perform full cycle accounting processes, including budgeting and financial projections. This position will oversee organizational financial data management and reporting to ensure compliance with all standard financial procedures. Located in Visalia, California the CRB was established in 1968 under the California Marketing Act.

Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Provide strategic recommendations and fiscal status reports to the President.
• Manage internal controls for compliance to federal, state, and local laws or regulations.
• Manage the Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
• Review financial transactions for integrity; evaluate processes for quality assurance.
• Supervise and direct the work of Accounting Staff; perform Human Resources functions.
• Reconcile bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers. File and remit taxes; meet other fiscal obligations.
• Generate financial reports and present to Finance Committee, Board of Directors and Annual Audit results.
• Initiate and manage Financial and Accounting software programs.

The desired candidate will possess these qualifications:

• Five years’ experience in Fiscal Management Leadership role or Public Accounting is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of Accounting rules and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of Grants and Contracts management is preferred.
• Strong skill and proficiency in Accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and QuickBooks.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to demonstrate good judgment and to lead with exemplary financial integrity.
