Grand Rapids Controls Hiring for Accounting Assistant II Job at Rockford, MI Full Time

We are looking for someone to perform transactional accounting functions according to established procedures or as directed by the finance staff. Your responsibilities would include but may not be limited to the below:

Accounts Payable:

• Obtain AP invoices for payment from post office, AP email in-box, AP invoice in box in finance department.
• Prepare AP invoices for approval, matching invoice to purchase order and pack slip; obtain signatures as needed.
• Verify that repetitive purchase invoice amounts from AP inbox agree with what is in Trans4M to be paid.
• Enter approved AP invoices into Accounting ERP software.
• Complete bi-monthly check runs.
• Prepare checks for mailing; mail out.
• Paper filing of all AP documents.
• Provide monthly supporting documentation for invoices paid to related entities in wire transfer.

Deposits:

• Obtain customer payments (checks) in mail from post office.
• Endorse; prepare deposit slip.
• Deposit in bank.

Customer Invoicing:

• Generate and distribute customer invoices for customer production shipments.
• Maintain share point list of intercompany invoices for related entities.

Support for Finance Department:

• Open, review, distribute and file Nightly Batch reports.
• Run monthly closing routine reports in Trans4M.
• Distribute GRC mail.
• Provide supporting documentation for equipment purchases as requested by outside lenders.
• Annually set up new file folders for vendor invoices; rotate current to prior year; box up previous year files.
• Provide monthly schedules and ad hoc support using Excel spreadsheets.
• Prepare schedules and provide supporting documentation for annual financial audit.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree (A. A.) preferred; minimum high school diploma. 2-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Fundamental competence with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP accounting software a plus.
• Organizational skills.
• Transactional accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour
