H.J. Opdyke Building Materials Company has been providing our customers with the high-quality products they need for their residential and commercial building projects since 1955. Our Boonville, NY location is currently seeking a Customer Service Associate to assist with counter sales, warehousing, and the safe delivery of building material orders to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting customers with quotes/sales orders
• Shipping and receiving
• Inventory
• Loading/unloading material
• Making local deliveries
• Providing exceptional service to our customers

Skill requirements:

• Ability to work with customers in a sales environment
• Knowledge of basic mathematical functions
• Knowledge of basic computer programs (Microsoft Office, etc.)
• Safely deliver materials to our customers
• Safely operate a forklift to assist with maneuvering material
• Ability to work a full-time schedule (part-time options available)
• Ability to sit, drive, and/or stand for sustained periods of time up to eight hours
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 80 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Driving experience (at least three years preferred, commercial truck experience preferred)
• A current driver’s license with medical card
• A clean driving record
• Forklift experience
