Position: Mechanical Support Technician

Location: REMOTE but candidates local to AZ will be prioritized

Pay: $22.11/hr

Duration: Long term – 11 months + extensions / permanent conversions

Must-haves

• Must have ASE cert (Automotive Service Excellence)
• Experienced working in transportation / truckload operation and maintenance department
• Experience in transportation operations with knowledge of HOS, DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Must have great verbal and written communication, be able to use a computer and basic applications comfortable and be comfortable multitasking both over the phone and computer simultaneously

Day-to-Day

As a Maintenance Technician Specialist, you will be a vital member of Amazon Transportation Services. The Maintenance Technician Specialist will work to improve asset downtime by troubleshooting defects prior to taking the asset to a repair vendor.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable on asset maintenance, extremely detail oriented, effective at troubleshooting with limited information, self-motivated, able to handle confidential information, as well as a demonstrated ability to respond effectively to changing workloads and priorities. Must have the ability to communicate well and to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Other responsibilities will include:
– Function as the escalation point for maintenance issues faced by drivers.
– Troubleshoot maintenance defects on Amazon assets.
– Analyze cost estimations for repairs and scrutinize the charges for labor and parts.
– Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for new process implementations, including participating in initial testing, development of standard work and monitoring of successful implementation.
– Conduct regular reviews of standard work process flows and lead the development of improved efficiencies.
– Support standard work reviews through the capturing of data, both quantitative and qualitative.
– Work night and/or weekend shifts and major holidays according to site requirements.
