Lifeway Foods is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk join the Accounting team at the headquarters in Morton Grove, IL. As our Accounts Payable Clerk, you will report to the AP Manager and interact closely with a team that is dedicated to excellence. This role is responsible for processing AP invoices and maintaining compliance with internal controls, assisting with financial reporting requirements, ensuring both an accurate and efficient financial close process and meeting required deadlines. This role will have the opportunity to improve processes and add efficiencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reviews all vendor invoices and check request for appropriate documentation and approval prior to processing
• Process AP Invoices in a 3-way match environment
• Codes invoices with accounting G/L account numbers according to chart of account categorizations in the general ledger
• Work with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
• Organize and maintain proper documents archiving (scan and file documents)
• Correspond with vendors to update or request information as it pertains to processing invoices, i.e. request invoices, W-9 forms, updates to the accounts, and billing address information
• Review Statements for missing invoices, or unpaid invoices.
• Assist with new vendor setup
• Vendor management (statements, research, and resolving discrepancies)
• Answer all vendor inquiries
• Filing
• Support an effective control environment, including the use of proper process, and principles, to ensure compliance with SOX
• Support the quarterly internal and external audits process.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve business results.

Qualification and Education Requirements

• Covid 19 Vaccine is Mandatory
• Bachelor’s Degree a plus
• 2-3 years experience
• Sales and use tax experience a plus
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Must exhibit strong sense of ownership, accountability, and desire to excel.
• Time-management, organizational skills, and strict attention to detail are a must
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and with others to meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $29.00 per hour
