Position and Organization Overview

We are recruiting an experienced instructor to train students in the CompTIA ITF+ and A+ curriculum and help them earn these certifications. Business communication and career readiness are also central elements to this course and should be modeled and re-enforced by instructors. This contracted, project-based opportunity requires about 25 hours per week for 12 consecutive weeks, which approximately includes 21 hours of classroom-based training plus additional hours for one-on-one tutoring and remediation throughout the week. There are also some obligations for team check-ins, logistics planning, and preparation in the weeks leading to the cohort launch as well as debrief, reporting, and follow up support for students up to one month after graduation. Instructors are required to assist with the monitoring and reporting of student attendance, performance, retention, and certification metrics and outcomes throughout the program. Training is held on a virtual platform and instructors may work remotely.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ certified

• Familiarity with the CompTIA IT Fundamentals, Net+, or Security+ exams and certifications a plus

• Experience instructing on IT subject matter, training entry-level technicians, and/ or preparing students to successfully complete the A+ certification, standardized exams, and/ or other related credentials highly preferred

• Experience developing IT curricula and lessons plans

• Experience training and/or teaching adult learners (young adults, job seekers, and career switchers) and diverse student groups with a range of educational and professional backgrounds a plus

• Hands-on, IT technical support and troubleshooting experience within a corporate setting a plus

• Experience accommodating students with varying levels of computer experience, education, and learning styles
