POSITION Accounting Technician

REPORTS TO Finance Director

WHO YOU ARE Under general supervision, you perform a variety of Accounts Receivable and Payable tasks related to Finance. You report to the Finance Director. You play an integral role in the company’s success as you are instrumental in ensuring the month-end close and processing of daily payments are reported and posted accurately. You work well with all departments including sales, marketing, planning, and operations. You are committed to excellence – continually striving to process and present information in more effective and efficient manners. You can seamlessly integrate information from multiple departments, channels, and levels to ensure payments and expenses are posted correctly and details are readily available should questions arise. You embody professionalism and genuinely demonstrate a willingness to contribute.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Accounts Payable

• Assist in the Accounts payable Process

• Update and maintain vendor database

• Receive and process invoices and payments in a timely manner

• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures

• File, mail, scan, and sort documents

• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions

• Act as backup for the payroll processing and generation

• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Accounts Receivable

• Research and resolve customer deductions by working with Sales and Customer Service

• Review open orders for credit holds daily

• Process and review new customer applications; create and maintain customer files

• Post customer payments by recording wires, checks or credits card transactions

• Prepare deposits as needed

• Document daily collection activities

• Respond to credit inquiries

• Monitor customer accounts for delinquency and initiate appropriate collection

• Analyze payment history for customer accounts

• Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• College or Bachelor’s degree preferred

• 2-4 years of experience in an accounting environment is a plus

• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and computer systems preferred

• Good written and communication skills

• Detailed oriented

EXTRA EXTRAS

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 is a plus

• English & French speaking

• Advanced excel skills is a plus
