Liberty Mutual Insurance Hiring for Backend Productivity Engineer Job at Remote Full Time

• Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving sophisticated technical challenges around developer and engineering efficiency and velocity.
• Craft and build robust automation to reduce toil and remove non-differentiating work.
• Drive adoption of standard methodologies in code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Analyze and decompose sophisticated software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for productivity.
• Work closely with stakeholders from the product, data, and operations teams in the planning and delivery of software features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of professional development experience in a major development language with emphasis on a modern back-end services.
• Experience building Serverless functionality with Golang preferred.
• Experience in designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-native software on public clouds like Amazon Web Services.
• Familiarity with declarative engineering practices and languages preferred.
• Familiarity with Control Plane and Kubernetes preferred.
• Automating development best practices and creating opinionated application lifecycles.
• Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to diagnose and prevent these problems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, infrastructure automation, and configuration management is a massive plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explore sophisticated problem spaces objectively from multiple points of view.
• A passion for implementing best practices and a bias toward smart automation.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers).
