TITLE: Assistant Director of Nursing DEPARTMENT: Nursing REPORTS TO: Mission of Lutheran Home of Southbury, Inc. an affiliate of Lutheran Social Services of New England: In response to Christ’s Love, we serve and care for people in need.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the direction of the nursing department in the absence of the DON and will fulfill the role of staff development and in-service training.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide supervised clinical experience for new nurses and nursing assistants as part of their orientation period. Assure that nursing staff receive training and opportunity for continued learning.

• Plan programs in collaboration with the Director of Nurses designed to meet the nursing service needs.

• Assist in the development of nursing policies and procedures, regularly updated and compliance assured.

• Assure that staff that is hired are trained and supervised to effectively deliver nursing care. Offer opportunities to staff members for learning new skills while working with residents.

• Participate in assessment of nursing care needs of potential residents with admissions to assure that appropriate care can be provided.

• Maintains current knowledge of regulation and nursing standards of practice. Develop systems to monitor resident record documentation to meet regulatory standards.

• Maintains current knowledge of regulation and nursing standards of practice. System in place to assure that all nursing staff receives required orientation, training and opportunities for continued learning. Responsible for staff mandatory training requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,327.00 – $130,439.00 per year

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
