Performance Team and Damco Distribution, now part of the Maersk global organization under a combined Warehousing & Distribution division, offer third party logistics services to over 500 customers. Encompassing almost 15 million square feet of warehousing capacity throughout the country and a large transportation segment capturing a variety of services, we have key supply chain hubs in the Los Angeles and New Jersey/New York areas, and other facilities along the Western & Eastern coasts along with multiple locations in the Midwest. Delivering significant sales and profitability growth, we will drive the Inland Logistics and Services business for the combined US business units for Maersk.
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Monitor Driver Safety Performance (using XRS, Samba and Vigillo and other monitoring systems).
- Guide weekly objectives of Regional Safety Partners.
- Create, deliver and track training programs.
- Provide training to drivers in an effort to improve safety performance in all aspects of driver related areas.
- Identify unique opportunities to engage drivers to improve their employment experience and safety performance.
- Act as mentor to collision, injury, near miss and non-conformance investigations.
- Review driver applications.
- Review compliance documents such as Pull Notices and Annual Review of Violations.
- Administer the Drug and Alcohol program.
- Monitor and maintain accident register.
- Provide reporting to Transportation leadership on specific KPI’s.
- Operational Subject Matter Expert on transportation safety related issues.
- Aide in the development of safety knowledge policies and work with operational personnel to implement best practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of Transportation Safety Admins. Indirect supervision of Regional Transportation Safety Partners driver fleet.
We are looking for
Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years of, either by a combination of work experiences or related training, direct experience delivering on the following expectations: ability to effectively research training materials; conduct root cause analysis; build meaningful action plans; and engage professional drivers, peers and leaders in a professional, effective manner.
- Possesses an advanced level of knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations, the FMCSR, HazMat, PHMSA, CARB, Driver Qualifications/ Disqualifications, HOS, event record devices, commercial truck inspections and their mechanical systems, electronic logging devices, Out-Of-Service (OOS) criteria, CVSA; PPE.
- Must be able to effectively deliver training is one on one to large group settings.
- Preference is given to NATMI certifications such as CDS and SDS.
