Magnum Drywall Inc Hiring for Wood Framing– Estimator / Project Manager Job at Fremont, CA Full Time

Magnum Drywall Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ESTIMATOR to bid commercial wood framing projects. The Wood Framing Estimator will provide thorough material take offs to give an accurate estimation of total job quantities and costs while clearly defining scope of work (inclusions, exclusions, qualifications, etc.). This estimator will actively be looking to improve future estimates and results.

Magnum Drywall is a full-service commercial union drywall contractor centrally located in the Bay Area of Northern California. Included as part of our company is our Wood Framing Division. Through our expanding scopes of work and aggressive bidding we have achieved sharp growth, making the need for an experienced estimator critical.

The right person for this position must have wood framing with project management experience and estimating experience. This ideal person will have been working in an estimating and project management role. The ability to deal with deadlines and create several estimates simultaneously is a must.​ The position includes and requires the following:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with On-Screen Take Off software and Quick Bid Proficient
• Strong math and analytical skills with an eye for detail
• Must be able to read and understand commercial and industrial blueprints
• Create take-offs from architectural drawings
• Estimate jobs with accuracy, speed and efficiency on company cost estimating system
• Thorough understanding of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
• Consult with sales team to resolve design issues and offer VE alternates.
• Interact with architects and engineers to resolve plan conflicts.
• Knowledgeable in lumber and sheathing grades and species.
• Understands different construction types. Residential and Multi-family.
• Solicit multiple vendors for assigned projects. Review and analyze vendor proposals for conformance.
• Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Maintain the highest level of personal integrity, professionalism and ethical practices in all business dealings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Prepare high level quality take-offs.
• Write detailed proposals
• 3+ years Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Field framing experience a plus.
• General construction background a plus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for locating bidding opportunities, estimating wood framing and custom specialty work using On-Screen Take Off, preparing and sending out proposals, following up on proposals, creating new client relationships, and preparing submittal documents.
