The Opportunity
As a Financial Reporting Consultant you will work in a fast paced, innovative, and collaborative environment focusing on regulatory and mutual fund reporting while also supporting special projects and assisting with ad hoc requests.
The Team
The Mutual Fund Operations Team is comprised of seven individual contributors who are focused on expense budgeting and accruals, mutual fund security valuation, regulatory reporting, and process improvements. The expense budgeting and accrual employees are responsible for monthly updates to fund budgets, processing of fund expenses, quarterly board reporting, and reviewing quarterly financial statements. The valuation employees are focused on the nightly fair valuation process, monthly reporting to the valuation committee, quarterly reporting to the board, and oversight of third-party pricing vendors. The regulatory reporting employee is focused on monthly N-PORT, annual N-CEN, liquidity, and financial statement reporting.

The team is motivated to work together, create efficiencies in their processes, create automation whenever possible, and encourages cross-training within the group. The team started out with a single employee and has grown over the years, with continuity on the team from 1-13 years.
The Impact:
Responsibilities would include:
Assist in the preparation of the monthly N-PORT reporting process, quarterly liquidity reporting, and annual N-CEN reporting
Gather, modify, and review data from various sources while assessing current processes for efficiencies
Monitor and maintain our derivative holdings on a daily basis
Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, regulatory filings, and board reporting
Build sub adviser and vendor relationships through regular meetings and communications
Work on special projects and ad hoc requests as assigned
The Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree in finance or accounting
Two years of related accounting, financial reporting or investments experience
Basic understanding of investment types: mutual funds, stocks, bonds, derivatives, etc.
Experienced user of Microsoft Excel
The Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
Knowledge of investments, mutual fund operations, and regulatory reporting requirements
Advanced user of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, and queries) and Access
Experience in the area of process improvement
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
Works independently of direct supervision
Thrives in both a team and self-motivated environment
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Effective time management and communication skills
Position Location
You will be required to work from our Springfield, MA office at least 2 days a week on Tuesday & Thursday
