Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Para Educator. The Paraprofessional/Educatoris an individual who works with students requiring generalized assistance tomeet their behavioral and instructional needs, under the direct supervision ofschool professionals or other behavioral specialists.
EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:
- Follows through with IEPobjectives at the direction of school professionals
- Supervises and assists students
- Communicates pertinentinformation to teachers and can assist with generalized classroom duties
- Documents session per policyand procedures. Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements
- Assists with activities ofprescribed programs
- Assists students in thedevelopment of independent skills through self-care activities such astoileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
- Assists Behavioral Specialistor Teacher with implementation of behavior management techniques
MinimumRequirements:
- High School diploma orequivalent required
- Current CPR certification
- Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (asapplicable per state and/or client requirement)
- Ability to effectivelyelicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, butnot limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communicationskills
- Computer proficiency required
- Successful completion ofbackground screening and onboarding process
- Must meet all federal, state,and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years ofage
- Crisis Prevention Training (asapplicable per state and/or client requirement)
- Certificate and/or AssociateDegree from an accredited Para Educator Training Program (as applicable perstate and/or client requirement)
