Mayvin is seeking an experienced Government Contractor accounting expert to oversee the daily accounting operations as the Controller. This is a key member of the management team, reporting to the CFO with hands-on, cradle-to-grave accounting responsibilities. Responsibilities:

• Expertise in full-cycle accounting – responsible for maintaining the corporate accounting system to ensure timely and accurate financial statements/project data
• Oversee the design and execution of accounting policies, revenue recognition, cost accounting and the development and implementation of related systems, controls, and procedures.
• Proven independent experience in month-end and year-end close out
• Serve as Unanet System Administrator to set up general ledger accounts, vendors, projects, and CLINS. Responsible for troubleshooting all issues
• Investigate, advise, influence, and implement new corporate infrastructure systems
• Responsible for the integrity of financial records and statements, so they accurately reflect the companys financial position and are in accordance with the FAR, DCAA regulations, GAAP, GSA, tax, etc.
• Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies and procedures
• Protects assets of firm by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
• Detailed knowledge of tax regulations, filings and tax compliance. Responsible for tax/regulation compliance, including serving as liaison with external CPA firm for taxes, financial reviews, and audits
• Develop and maintain all accounting policies, procedures, and controls
• Mentor and develop team members, and be recognized as a trusted leader across the entire organization

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting
• Must possess strong Government Contracting Accounting skills, proven GOVCON general ledger experience, including all assets, liabilities, and equity accounts
• 10 years of Government Cost Accounting is required
• Experience working with DCAA and preparing Incurred Cost Submissions
• 5-10 years Government Contracting ERP/Financial Accounting system experience required (Unanet, Deltek GCS/Costpoint, et al.)
• 10 years prior experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables)

Preferred:

• Public accounting experience with a CPA
