Minimum rate: $20.79 per hour. Maximum rate: $32.67 per hour.

ABOUT THE JOB:

Some schedule flexibility is preferred. First, second and third shifts available.

This position is an entry-level training and development position. Extensive training is provided. Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to:

• Make a variety of minor repairs that Drivers may write up.
• Pressure-test and diagnose coolant systems.
• Check and diagnose electrical systems and make minor electrical repairs.
• Check tire alignments and maintain the fleet’s tires.
• Perform preventive maintenance and stay current on preventive maintenance schedules.
• Work the fuel island and make repairs to fuel island as needed; clean the transportation shop areas as needed.

Mechanic I teammates may drive (or be trained to drive) tractors and/or tractor-trailer combinations.

Tech school classes or equivalent training are preferred but not required for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license.
Preventative maintenance experience preferred, including minor repairs on tractor and trailers, some electrical diagnostics, light repairs, dismounting and mounting tire machine, and use of tire bars and tire gun.
