Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist position provides support in the functional areas of the Human Resources Department at Melmark New England – Stoughton. Must be familiar with a variety of the industry concepts, practices, procedures and the varying professional licensure and qualifications desired. In addition to this, the Human Resources Generalist will oversee onboarding of new hires, background check compliance and regulatory license and credentialing verifications. Responsible for benefit administration and support the Professional Development Department with training administration and documentation, manage worker’s compensation, employee leaves, wellness initiatives, staff retention programs and annual payroll increases.
As a team player in the Human Resources Department the Human Resources Generalist will maintain a maximum level of confidentiality and assist management to foster a positive attitude toward company goals. This individual will assist with various special projects in order to increase productivity to the department, ensure regulatory compliance, as well support the overall mission of the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred.
Certifications/Licensure: PHR/SPHR and /or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification preferred. A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status. Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, and Melmark’s Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program.
Skill(s): Requires computer training, exceptional organizational and communication skills and knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources and office management.
Interrelationships: Interacts with all Melmark New England departments to provide smooth transition of Melmark New England individuals needs.
