Senior IoT Firmware Engineer- MonoLets, Inc

The Company.

MonoLets is a full-stack provider of item-level asset identity and tracking technology. We enable this via disposable BLE digital labels at the cost of RFID tags, assembled within our proprietary low-power wireless mesh network architecture. Our system provides unmatched range, flexibility and cost-efficiency, making it possible to cost-effectively access high-volume, high-velocity data at the item level on a global scale, which has applications in many different verticals, including real-time visibility into item location and/or temperature in logistics, retail, cold chain and pharmaceutical delivery. Our business model is data-as-a-service, using our low-cost labels and mesh networking products.

Our technology was developed at UC Berkeley over the last 4 years leveraging a $2M DARPA grant. We have finished three paid proof-of-concept trials with Fortune 500 companies, and have a queue of several large customers in logistics and manufacturing signed up for pilots. Our recently closed seed financing will fund these pilots and system commercialization.

The Role.

Work with our core founding team to develop IoT mesh network protocols and algorithms designed for enterprise customers in logistics, manufacturing, cold chain and pharma. In this role, you will:

• Design and implement scalable wireless mesh network architecture, protocols, including scheduling and routing algorithms.
• Define and develop test methodologies to benchmark the performance of the mesh network protocol.
• Develop methods for continuous integration/deployment/improvement (CI/CD) of implementation for large scale wireless mesh networks.
• Architect, implement and build software for testbed infrastructure to benchmark performance.
• Develop mesh network features to satisfy customer requirements.
• Write documentation for protocol architectures, implementation methods, test scripts and generate reports.

Requirements for this role:

• Bachelor with 5+ yrs, MS, (Ph.D. preferred) and 3+ yrs related experience in CS/EE
• Experience with low power wireless mesh network protocols for IoT, such as TSCH, RPL, 6TiSCH Protocol Stack, BLE Protocol Stack, Zigbee or Thread.
• Experience with embedded C and Python
• Experience with embedded OS’s such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, MyNewt, or bare-metal.
• Experience with open-source implementation for low-power wireless networks, such as OpenWSN, Contiki.
• Experience with cryptography is desired.
• Experience with developing software based on IoT protocols such MQTT, TCP/IP, UDP, CoAP is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
