• Work together with other members of the Corporate Accounting team as well as directly liaising with our Finance business to support the write up of technical white papers and/or liaison with external consultants as needed
• Oversee certain processes and key controls relating to technical areas at the Hughes segment and help spearhead and drive process improvements
• Prepare and help coordinate the timely and accurate production standalone GAAP reporting for statutory requirements and audits as needed (including but not limited to Puerto Rico and selected other subsidiaries not in the responsibility of the local country)
• Ensure local country compliance, including statutory audit of financial statements and ensure statutory filings are timely made
• Maintenance of GEMs system to ensure that all subsidiary information and financial statements filed are kept up to date, working closely with legal and administrative support as needed
• Work with 3rd party accounting companies to optimize processes and costs
• Coordinate with legal as appropriate and direct work of outsourced statutory accounting, reporting, and filing ensuring all international audits and filings are completed timely and recorded correctly
• Oversee the relationship with external auditors, coordinating all parties to ensure that the Corporate Consolidations audits as well as the local entities audits are planned, resourced effectively, executed efficiently and timely. Maintain PBC listing and coordinate meetings between auditors and internal groups to ensure timely compliance.
• Play a leadership role in projects related to acquisitions, divestitures, and changes in accounting process or policy.
• Support development of technical knowledge throughout the accounting organization by assisting in developing trainings
• Review for compliance with all debt covenants and assist with the preparation of guarantor and non-guarantor financial statements as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 8+ years of related accounting experience including significant exposure to technical accounting, Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and experience in preparation and audit of financial statements
• Minimum of 3 years of knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS or other regional local GAAP standards
• 
  Active CPA

• Master’s degree in accounting
• 3+ years public accounting – Big Four a plus
• Proven self-starter requiring minimal guidance to successfully complete projects
• Superior organization and prioritization skills
• Ability to efficiently communicate and interact with people of various cultures
• Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in problem solving and project collaboration.
• Proven ability to present data in a clear, concise and compelling manner to all levels of management.
• Superior writing, Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills
