Position Summary

The responsibilities of the Bookkeeper will include documenting transaction details, putting together financial reports, fact checking accounting data including purchases and payments, maintaining financial records and reports, performing account and bank reconciliations, assist with posting journal entries and account reconciliations.

The role is a good fit for someone looking to help make their mark on a fast-growing accounting team, as we implement stronger policies and procedures to help scale the business as it grows. This role will offer a hybrid schedule with time in the office and working from home.

Overall Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports as requested by management
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses aligned with monthly close process
• Maintain State Tax databases in payroll system to ensure State taxes are properly withheld
• Reconciles bank statements daily/monthly to ensure that it reconciles with our financial system software
• Review monthly/quarterly financial results for accuracy to ensure that all revenue and costs associated with the month/period are properly recorded and classified in the general ledger
• Assist with reconciliation of billing and customer payments to ensure payments are properly applied
• Monitor company spending and set up payment schedules for recurring costs
• Respond to employee questions regarding accounting transactions and payroll related questions
• Perform monthly bank settlements and reconciliation
• Prepare documentation for external auditors/accountants

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Ability to work independently
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• At least two years’ experience in accounting or a related field
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Exhibits integrity and sound judgement to all areas of responsibility
• Able to multi-task; Does not hesitate to roll up their sleeves to help team succeed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
