Open Sky Community Services Hiring for Part Time Awake Overnight Counselor – Oasis Job at Douglas, MA Part Time
Salary: USD $16.75/Hr.
Description and Responsibilities:
Open Sky is seeking compassionate individuals who are looking for a great opportunity to grow a rewarding and meaningful career in human services. The Oasis program, located in Douglas, MA, is a 16-bed treatment program for adults who have both mental health and substance use disorders. Oasis is not a typical group home environment – our model is to support all paths to wellness and recovery including yoga, meditation, smart recovery, therapy animals, 12-step programs, and more.
Awake Overnight Counselors provide support to individuals who live in the residential program during overnight hours. Although the treatment the residents receive is intensive, the environment is fairly stable, especially during the overnight hours. This is a perfect position for a student wanting to grow their career in human services, while being able to balance the needs of the job with their outside responsibilities. Schedule: Sunday and Monday 11p-7a
- Complete basic housekeeping, filing, shift logs, observe and/or support individuals in taking their medications.
- Must remain awake and alert for the entirety of shift (overnight).
- Assisted daily living skills, morning transports and supports to individuals as necessary.
- Exercise good judgment and communicate/ask for support from the team and supervisors when needed.
Qualifications:
- Per ratio requirements, this position must be filled by a male or non-binary candidate.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Alternative education/experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and a compassion for those who are struggling.
