What You’ll Do

OpenTech Alliance is looking for a mid to senior back-end software engineer that can help maintain our legacy systems and to help design and develop next-generation internal applications for the self-storage industry. You will be working on Facility Management integration software, systems to systems communications for real time systems. You’ll join a high-performing project team that includes a dedicated Tech Lead, front-end and back-end (services) developers, UX/UI designer, dedicated QA engineers, and DevOps.

Technology Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience developing back-end services, leveraging .NET Framework and C#

• Fluent in C# required
• VB.NET is a plus
• .NET Core is a plus

• 3+ years’ development experience integrating with and interacting with SQL Server Databases (we use MS SQL Server but MySQL, Sybase, DB2, Oracle, Postgres etc are fine).

• Fluent in SQL, Stored Procedures

• Solid experience working with REST and SOAP based web services
• Solid experience creating REST and SOAP web services
• Experience working with XAML is a plus
• Experience with .NET Windows Services is a plus
• Experience working with ORM’s (Object Relational Mapping) is a plus
• Experience with C++ is a plus
• Experience developing front end applications that consumed back-end services, leveraging one or more front end technologies or frameworks, is a plus but not required
• We are a Microsoft shop, so you should be comfortable developing in Visual Studio

Experience and Skills:

• Strong problem solving skills required
• Ability to think/work creatively, independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to translate designs, wireframes and written requirements into functional systems.
• Experience taking proof-of-concepts from technical design to enterprise-grade production deployment.
• Experience using standard development processes and Agile methodologies, including participation in peer reviews, code branching/merging, Github and Azure DevOps or Jira
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education, Experience, and Training

• Minimum of 3 years related experience, with more senior positions for more experienced applicants
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and/or applicable experience

• Additional years of professional experience in lieu of BS will be considered for strong applicants

• Experience as a software engineer with a consulting firm is a definite plus, but not required

Pay: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
