Hello! We are looking for a Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. We are a mobile x-ray and ultrasound provider and have operated in Oklahoma since 1993 as a family-owned company that is growth-oriented. We maintain a positive, learning culture built on a foundation of communication.

The Medical Coding Specialist schedule is part-time and flexible. Up to 30 hours per week, we ask that your time starts before noon each day. So if you’re really busy in the mornings, or afternoons are booked up, the Medical Coding Specialist position gives you that flexibility! We foresee a minimum of 25 hours per week for you to be successful in this position, and of course as you grow, the position could grow with you. Medical Coding Specialist Job Details

• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required for tests.
• Check eligibility and benefits verification.
• Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information.
• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Review accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.
• Answer patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to accounts.
• Invoice and work R/P accounts
• Coding exams

Proficiency in the following areas for the Medical Coding Specialist:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems
• Must be able to identify Hospice and skilled nursing patients
• Able to identify if Medicare is the primary payor and any MSP information.
• Be able to call facilities/provider offices and get missing information if needed
• Competent use of computer systems, software, and 10 key calculators
• Post payments from insurance companies and facilities
• Answer phones and take orders as needed
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding
• Effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers to resolve issues.
• Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds
• Ability to work well in a team environment. Being able to triage priorities, delegate tasks if needed, and handle conflict in a reasonable fashion
• Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10’s related to radiology
• Maintaining patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
