Peripheral Cath Lab Technologist

Peripheral diagnostic and interventional cath lab looking to hire a tech to assist with procedures, pre-procedure and post-procedure care including sheath removal. All cases are scheduled and there are no emergency or weekend cases.

The position’s tasks and responsibilities include:

• Competently operates C-arm and related equipment including electronic backup of images.

• Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment during procedures

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the Cath Lab patient.

• Check-in and sterile prepping of patient for procedure

• Coordinates and organizes supplies, equipment and instruments needed for Cath Lab procedures. Responsible for tracking and maintaining adequate stock of all supplies and equipment. Operates all equipment safely and correctly. Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases.

• Provides assistance to physician performing Cath Lab procedures.

• Loads pressure injector with contrast media as directed. Sets controls for appropriate volume and pressure and triggers injection upon physician order. Utilizes Manifold per protocol.

• Performs moderate point of care testing per CLIA guidelines (ACT machine)

• Administers prescribed medications under guidance of the physician and RN. Observes and reports patient reaction.

• Responds appropriately in an emergency situation and has a good working knowledge of emergency medications, CPR and defibrillation. Maintains ACLS certification.

• Monitors, records and maintains accurate case and recovery log

• Monitors patient during recovery and perform patient care duties up to and including sheath removal and discharge.

This position is in an outpatient setting. Cases are not scheduled daily. This position is a great opportunity for a seasoned cath tech who would like an additional 2-4 days per month on a scheduled, routine basis assisting with a light volume of cases.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
