POSITION SUMMARY

The Customer Transportation Representative will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive product. The individual in this role will have a primary relationship with our transportation carriers and will schedule shipments for customer delivery. They will research ways to optimize freight costs and delivery schedules. This role is also responsible for downloading and creating sales orders

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create sales orders, including downloading orders received via EDI and manually creating orders received via email and communicate with production planning for creation of work orders. Update quotes as needed
• Communicate with customers, answering questions and providing documents as needed, including Certificate of Origin and Made in USA certification requests, as well as sustainability data
• Schedule shipments, including corresponding with carriers as needed, and updating our internal shipping schedules
• Track and communicate shipping metrics
• Communicate with carriers to gather freight rates for various lanes, answer carrier questions
• Assemble and forward paperwork for S&R dept (PO, production order, export paperwork, etc)
• Troubleshoot and solve transportation related issues, including damaged product
• Request extension of MABD’s as needed
• Approve freight invoices
• Create work order and prepare Trial Sheets for production
• Monitor/order office supplies
• Scan completed work orders
• Support procurement as needed, including generating PO’s

Qualifications

• At least two years of administrative experience in the transportation, operations or customer service area
• Solid Excel and Google docs experience
• Experience with Sage ERP preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
