Rockey Structures Hiring for Structural Engineer Job at Chicago, IL Full Time

Rockey Structures is currently looking for a full-time, self motivated and personable, Structural Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join our team. The Engineer’s responsibility will include working directly with clients while seeing a project from inception through construction. We focus on delivering a complete engineering package to all of our clients, and produce high quality engineering solutions, as well as the documentation to have them constructed properly. Our work is diverse, and includes new construction and renovation, as well as many non-traditional projects such as art installations, large scale sculptures, and television and movie work.

Duties will include:

• Meeting and developing continuing relationships with our clients.
• Collaboration with Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Civil Engineers and Owners to develop creative and integrated solutions.
• Preparing structural design calculations, analysis models, and associated technical drawings.
• Building Code review and document compliance to applicable design standards.
• Review of shop drawings for conformance to project requirements.
• Working with younger team engineers to assist in individual project requirements as well as helping them develop coordination and design skills.
• Site visits in the local area for project meetings, field construction visits, and review of existing structural building conditions.

Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis (Masters preferred).
• 3+ years experience in the structural engineering of buildings or other objects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• SE licensure or actively pursuing SE Licensure.
• Autocad/Revit/RAM/Sap software ability.
