Job Purpose: As the Director of Business Development of Transportation Technology, your purpose is to drive the growth of our company through the build-out and maturation of your sales pipeline through the generation of new business opportunities. The DBD focus includes Rockfarm’s four business channels: Transportation Management (TM) Solutions, Fulfillment Solutions, Supply Chain Coach, and Global Forwarding. Each channel has specific targets the DBD will align to their efforts in driving qualified leads into opportunities and onto a sale. The DBD’s efforts will be illustrated within their pipeline and will include strategic and transactional opportunities.

Pipeline activities will include identifying target prospects, identification of needs, and alignment of our service portfolio to those needs. Tactical prospect development will require identification of the service to be executed. Strategic Account business development will include responding to RFQ/RFP/RFI’s as approved by the company for each service segment. Within the proposal process, the DBD will be responsible for the generation of the proposed value proposal, costing model, and inherent workup when positioning a TM, Fulfillment RFP response, and a Coach SOW.

Knowledge in Supply Chain processes, transport modes, technology, and services are inherent within the position as it offers an industry foundation to present our services and solution to a potential customer or client.

Business Development Manager Essential Responsibilities

• Prospecting of potential leads for qualification and pipeline development
• Networking within industry organizations, associations and through organized events
• Execution of the lead qualification process to develop aligned opportunities into a value proposal
• Development of an opportunity to include qualification, generation of the value proposal to close.
• Responsible for preparation and submission of RFI/RFQ’s within the Fulfillment Logistic Services Channel
• Responsible for generation of the value proposal and cost model within the Solution Services new business proposals
• Responsible for maintenance and management of the sales pipeline to include alignment of the sale stages and definition of the overall relationship with the prospective client
• Responsible for achievement of new sales goals for Logistics and Solutions growth initiatives
• Responsible for identification of and communication of potential growth opportunities to be secured with additional resources to include the Inside Sales Teams, Solution Services, and Rockfarm Leadership
• Responsible for formulation and generation of sales leads for logistics and solution services

Preferences:

• 2 – 4 years of Continued Education (AA or Bachelor’s Degree) or Related Experience
• Excellent Written and Oral communication skills
• 5 to 10 years of sales experience in the 3PL Supply Chain Transportation industry

• Master of Office Suite Products

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,500.00 – $100,000.00 per year
