About our group:

Seagate Minnesota Campus (MNC) seeks a high technology industry facility engineer or construction management professional to join the Plant Engineering staff as a project manager (PM). This PM will have the responsibility to develop solutions to engineering and complex maintenance concerns and manage these solutions through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices, and procedures. They will also manage other aspects of the site operations as required to ensure full support to the site’s customers. This role joins the MNC Facilities team of over 40 people and will support Seagate’s Bloomington, MN operations – a 700,000 square foot, highly technical facility, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

About the role – you will:

• Directly develop facilities plans for renovation or new construction projects involving cleanrooms, office areas, labs, new equipment installation, and other misc. types of building space
• Work with outside A&E firms to develop facilities plans for renovation or new construction projects
• Work with Production & Industrial Engineers on new area layouts
• Work with department Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on design & construction coordination
• Develop project budgets for renovation/construction projects
• Generate construction drawings using AutoCAD and develop written project specs for bidding
• Obtain outside contractor bids for renovation/construction projects
• Manage internal maintenance and outside construction contractors working on renovation/construction projects
• Provide management with renovation/construction project status updates
• Prepare final renovation/construction project punch lists at the end of projects and ensure all items are completed
• Complete final renovation / construction project as-built documentation
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, city, and company laws, codes, regulations, and standard operating procedures
• Compliance with site Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Ensure renovation/construction project budgets and schedules meet requirements
• Work closely with maintenance, space management, and outside vendors to ensure the quality of service to supported customers
• Annual review/update of department standard operating procedures related to project management
• Provide engineering support to the maintenance staff to improve building resilience and maintainability
• Other misc. duties necessary to meet the department’s needs

About you:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Customer service focus and ability to translate customer needs and wants into an on-time and on-budget project
• Able to enforce safety standards
• Able to multi-task, manage time effectively, and organize complex activities
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software
• Able to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays

Your experience includes:

• Project management to include developing and maintaining project schedules (Gantt chart)
• Ability to create a project scope and budget
• Writing Requests for Proposals (RFPs); reviewing and awarding bids
• Previous facility management experience

You might also have:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience with 8D, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing
• Knowledge of building construction and NFPA codes

Pay: $100,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
