Sindoni Consulting & Management Services, Inc. (SCMS) is seeking to fill the position of Control System Design (CAD) Engineer at our offices located in Costa Mesa, CA. SCMS is a premier commissioning firm serving the Western United States with a focus on highly technical systems in the healthcare, laboratory, pharmacy, higher education, and other complex market sectors. Our primary focus involves mechanical, electrical, plumbing and control systems, and to a lesser extent building envelope, structured cabling, audio visual, security, synchronized clocks nurse call and other systems. SCMS continues to expand our professional services to satisfy our clients needs by building a cohesive company team led by a “hands-on” company leader.

The applicant should not consider this as an entry-level position. SCMS is looking for an individual with experience in the highly technical control industry with programming experience and AutoCAD experience. The applicant must be able to work in a complimentary fashion with others in the development of project control system designs including the development of highly efficient sequences of operation, process and instrumentation diagrams, detailed wiring diagrams. Applicant will also be involved in the deployment of fault detection diagnostic and analytic software platforms including the development of customized rules for specific applications.

This position can lead to opportunities within the company relating to the development of commissioning plans and specifications, MEP design reviews, functional performance testing script development, field implementation of developed FPT’s, system performance evaluation, and final commissioning report generation. Based on knowledge, skills, and experience, the applicant can move onto project management roles on commissioning projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• Positive work ethic

• Associated Arts Degree or higher
• 3 Years of control systems experience
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Teams, Outlook experience
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Reside in the Costa Mesa area or reliable transportation

General Work Tasks to be Performed:

• Support the development of in-house control system design standards
• Develop templated functional testing scripts based on in-house standards
• Coordination with sub-consultants associated with the generation of control drawings
• Maintain the library of standardized sequences, drawings, testing scripts, etc.
• Support the development of functional performance testing scripts for use in the field based on sequences of operation
• Support the field implementation of functional testing scripts
• Support both virtual and physical bench testing of control programming on MEP systems
• Support the deployment of fault detection diagnostic and analytic hardware and software on projects
• Support others in the use of fault detection diagnostic and analytics software for acceptance on projects

• Review Contract Documents (plans and specifications)
• Develop a Basis of Design for Controls
• Develop controls contract documents
• Process and Instrumentation Diagrams
• Detailed sequences of operation
• Control panel wiring diagrams
• Bill of materials
• BAS graphic, trending, point naming schedules

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
