Accountant

Summary: To support the Director of Finance in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department. This position involves all things Accounting as part of the team responsible for all aspects of accounting, audit, cash management, reporting and internal controls. Prior experience of the ideal candidate would include: Accounts Payable, intermediate to advanced excel spreadsheet skills, bank reconciliations and reconciliation of trial balance accounts.

The ideal candidate must be able to pay attention to detail and thrive in a dynamic environment.

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. Minimum 3+ years of work experience in an accounting/finance related role. Strong knowledge of and one to two years directly related GAAP experience.

Job Type: Full-time – Potential Remote work for candidate outside of Southern California

Pay: $50,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year, salary based upon experience and capabilities.

This is a responsible position that reports to the Director of Finance.

This candidate should have a great attention to detail with strong organizational skills, be highly motivated and shall have a particular focus on accounting support, bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, revenue recording, inventory reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Strong excel skills a must.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Document Management
• Bank Reconciliations, Credit card reconciliations
• Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable duties as necessary
• Journal entry and data review
• Cash receipt and Cash Disbursement recording and reconciliation
• General ledger account reconciliations
• Assist with reconciliations for month end close
• Invoicing
• Providing back-up support for annual reporting
• Assisting with assigned special finance projects, KPI reporting, and financial statement preparation work
• Sales and Use tax return filings ad correspondence
• Other duties as assigned
• Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financials and related information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and minimum 3 years’ experience in public accounting or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Security or Solar industry a plus
• Knowledge and use of Google Suite preferred.
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
• Knowledge and use of quickbooks accounting software required.
• Knowledge of Quickbase software a plus.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and understanding of financial accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Ability to understand and analyze financial principles and apply them to assigned daily tasks.
• Strong excel skills including pivot tables and v look-ups
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven experience expressing ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, in the English language.
• Ability to research, write and edit statistical, financial and factual information.
• Ability to exercise good judgment when resolving conflicts.
• Ability and willingness to learn new concepts and ideas related to accounting in the solar and security industries.
• Ability to promote and establish effective working relationships.
• Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and partner with different teams.
